The stage that saves you the most time

A raw forging carries scale, draft, and a generous machining envelope. Removing that bulk is slow, dirty work that eats cutting tools and ties up spindle time. When MTS rough machines the part first, you skip the heavy roughing passes and go straight to finishing.

Rough machining also opens the part up so it can be inspected — cutting back to clean metal reveals the sound forging underneath and confirms there is stock in every critical area before it reaches your floor. We forge close to contour, heat treat, then machine, so the component you receive is stable and near-net.
