Custom Forging

Special Forging

Custom and complex forgings engineered to your print — from exotic alloys and one-off geometries to low-to-mid-volume runs that standard tooling can't economically reach.

Forged to your print, not to a catalog

Special forging is where MTS Forge earns its reputation. When a component is too complex, too specialized, or produced in volumes too low to justify dedicated production tooling, our engineers and forge crews develop a process built around that single part — combining open-die work, custom blocker tooling, and controlled thermal sequences to hit the geometry your drawing calls for.

Since 1986 we have taken on the parts other shops decline: unusual cross-sections, tight material-property requirements, and exotic alloys that demand careful heat and reduction control. Every job is engineered to print, forged to spec, and documented under our ISO 9001:2015 quality system.

Process capabilities

  • Custom, complex, and asymmetric geometries engineered to print
  • Low-to-mid-volume production and prototype-to-pilot runs
  • Exotic and specialty alloys — stainless, duplex, nickel and high-alloy grades
  • Open-die and blocker-tooling strategies tailored to each part
  • Controlled thermal and reduction sequences for target properties
  • In-house heat treatment, normalising, and rough machining
  • Full material traceability under ISO 9001:2015 (Cert. No. US5024)

Why customers bring us the hard parts

Engineered to print

We build the process around your drawing — geometry, alloy, and properties, not a fixed die catalog.

Exotic alloys

Comfortable working stainless, duplex, and high-nickel grades that demand careful heat control.

Low-to-mid volume

Economical for the runs that don't justify full production tooling, from prototypes to pilot lots.

Sound grain structure

Forged flow lines deliver strength and integrity a fabrication or casting can't match.

Collaborative engineering

Our team works your print with you to make a difficult part manufacturable and repeatable.

Documented quality

Every special forging is traceable and controlled under our ISO 9001:2015 system.
